This is just the general flaws that anime style artists like to follow
In truth, there is a whole wide specturm spanning from anime to realistic.
The good thing is, most anime artists are moving towards the other end.
But at the same time, the realistic style artists are moving towards anime too.

Oh! Also! Don't forget to choose a really really unrealistic hair colour for your anime character, like.. BLUE!

Blistering heart

A continuation of a previously unfinished work (that's a first).
On another night where I can't sleep and have a lot on my mind...

Page 1 delayed! (forever?)

Started this comic with Jit again because previously, doing the PNT comic I learnt a ton of stuff, constantly looking at references this and that.

Well I haven't even finished page 1 and I've already learnt something!
Colouring was slapped on last minute to see how it would look.
And if possible I would like to use this style to go forth with the comic...

I did work on page 1 though:

It will be scrapped and redone, everything!

Final Reference sheet

Fixed most of the stuff and made some guidelines for myself so I would be easier for me to recreate faces. (Mostly with Elsie's)

Next up: Cover page for chapter 1!

Things are getting serious!

Elsie Reference sheet

Elsie's Reference sheet

4:23 am
After multiple attempts to re-create Elsie's face failed, I'm coming to the conclusion that I'll have to change her face altogether.

Didn't have that problem with Tomas (see below).

3:58 am (2 days later)
Well I tried my very best to keep the face consistent.
There aren't as many variables I can play around with, for instance Tomas's bushy eyebrows and cleft chin.
Women... the defining variables are a lot more subtle, and I really have no patience for that sort of crap...

Days comic

I sorta forgot why I thought this was a good comic idea in the 1st place... ...
Well, I certainly proved a point... (started this at 2-3pm, finished this at 2am, posted up 3am on the dot).

11-12 hours

colour doodle

nothing much, just practicing colours... towards the end my hand got tired from all that blending

Environment practice

Unfinished (and not planning to finish), just practice for drawing backgrounds...
A modest, but very important aspect for drawing... Probably important than the characters themselves...

Was tired of using the Iron Maiden posterboy for my display picture, so I got around to doing this.. Took like... what... half an hour? :/

A water-bottle I designed behind the back of my superiors during the internship.
Was eventually given away to a colleague of mine. (Jonathan)

I made another one which I felt was better, because there was a naked lady on it.
Gave that one away too (to Doreen), and sadly I didnt take any pictures of that one.

Boy oh boy has it been awhile since I did an ARTDUMP.

Well, I actually did a lot of drawing during the internship, in between calls, but since I also wrote customer information on the same paper, and I'm too lazy to edit it out, I can't post it.
Banking secrecy and all that good stuff...

That's about 20-30 pages of art dump I can't post lol.

Oh boy... I think I've gotten worse at drawing... I really do...
*Last part was done for a report where illustrations was compulsory.

After getting requests upon requests to draw this and to draw that, I've decided to open up some sort of commissions service. I mean people come to me, willing to pay me even before I say anything.

That was before I saw how much other artists were charging and how much better they were than myself.

I am not worthy to charge money for commissions.

But people STILL come to me for requests (not that I mind, honestly I'm quite happy to do it for them).

Bottom line, I'll accept requests, $10 - $25 depending on what you want me to do.
I'll do anything from Caricatures to Full length comics, you can throw me a really obscure and unusual task too if you think I'm up to it, like scuptures and maybe mosiac, I dont know...
Basically, I'll charge you based on how long the request takes me to complete.

If you decide to opt for the commission, it won't be posted on the blog, rights to the picture will be exclusively yours. Unless permission is granted by you for me to post it, you'll be the only one with a copy.

Email me at www.hipposux@hotmail.com , and we'll work out the pricing and your request.

Another love request!

I don't know why I did the skull thing... DO YOU!?

Wedding portrait

Reuploaded, upon re-opening the old file on my computer, I realised that the contrast on my computer is a lot higher than my laptop (for some odd reason).

After somebody pointed out that it looked very grey, I realised my computer was an anomaly, so, there reuploaded.

Lessons (COMICS)

Every new piece I do, I seem to learn something new. (I still have a long way to go)
I learn about my habits,
and I learn many different methods and expectations,
I also learn that I really suck at drawing comics....

Before I forget, I want to put this on the blog to remind myself.
A small comic, WIP

In my last comic, the Church one, Jit commented that my lines were messy and all over the place. To which I agreed...

He also said that the images looked "flat", to which I told him to go stick his head in a fat man's sweaty ass-crack.
Well no, my exact words were "mmm yeah... maybe..." but he got my implied meaning...

I am also taking my time with this one, it has been 3 weeks and I havent even finished the 2nd panel. Making sure the lines are a little neater and thinner, as well as improving on the colouring.

I hate colouring...

I realised, in my last comic, my focus and emphasis was all off. I rushed through the lines(8hrs is considered rushing in CM time) and focused too much on the colouring.

What I should strive to replicate, would be something close to this:

Yeah... the face palm picture is the picture I strive to recreate...

Lesson 1: Don't give yourself too much time to do something, you'll over texture a lot of unnesscary stuff, also, you'll get less motivated to complete something.

Lesson 2: Effective lighting can still be achieved with 1-2 different level colours. Keep the colours simple, direct, and to the point.

Lesson 3: Get a pen for fucks sake! If you suck at using the tablet to do the outlines, do it with a pen! If you mess up, circle it with a pencil so you dont forget to edit it when u transfer it to PS.

Lesson 4: When listening to Lesson 3, remember to keep the paper in some folder or something. If you leave them on your desk like the lazy slob you are, the moisture from the Airconditioning will make it moist and most likely smudge your ink.

Lesson 5: With regards to Lesson 4, buy a folder like thing.

Lesson 6: This is turning into a "to-do list".

NOTE* These lessons are only to be applied when doing comics, you numb nut!

I'm talking to myself, not anyone else...

This internship is driving me insane....
More unfinished stuff:

Scraps... because I forgot, or didn't want to post the following stuff last time.
So, enjoy, just remember there is a reason I didn't post these stuff before...(because it's total fucking garbage)

Done in IS art class (2hrs each). Loved that class, thought of failing it so I could repeat.
Steel Chair Wrestler (topic was: clay figurine in a cup)

Something random that we were supposed to do, I cannot even remember the topic...

Poster (doesn't look like a poster)

Printed Spiderweb game boxart

Unfinished girl on girl wrestling poster

Made a ladybug to house my tablet pen

My Desk...(because I felt the need to let others know how messy I can be, and that I have $10)
